Attendance

Attendance and punctuality are important life skills we try to instill in our students at Carden Traditional School. Please help us by ensuring your child arrives a minimum of five minutes before class begins. Teachers are prepared with busy teaching schedules and often when the child arrives late they miss important links to information presented.

Regular attendance habits are important for instruction as well. While we understand students get sick and are unable to be in school at times, appointments, lessons and recreational activities should be scheduled during non-school days and hours. Carden Traditional School and the Arizona State Board of Education considers attendance to be vital for the student’s education. If a school shows an absentee rate greater than 6% funding can be withheld and the school could be labeled under performing or failing. A copy of the school calendar is included in the handbook to make planning easier. We urge you to work with us on attendance ensuring your child’s education receives the priority it deserves.
