Kindergarten

Carden’s Kindergarten program involves a core language arts program.  It is a comprehensive reading and writing program known for its systematic instruction in phonological and phonemic awareness and phonics.  Carden’s math program is a Hands-on approach. All new concepts are developed through hands-on activities and rich mathematical conversations that actively engage students in the learning process. Concepts are developed, reviewed, and practiced over time. Students move from the concrete to the pictorial to the abstract.

Science and Social Studies is exploratory.  The students are exposed to hands-on activities such as seeing butterflies come out of their cocoons to visiting the fire station.  Basic technology, art, music, and physical education skills are taught in kindergarten as well.

Carden believes in developing the whole child and having fun while we do that.  Our kindergarten students are always engaged in a positive learning environment.
